About this place
Crowned with thick slices of pork seared until intensely fragrant, the Atsugiri Aburi Toroniku Ramen is the natural place to start on a visit to Nidaime Gozan. The charred surface gives way to an exceptionally tender, melting texture, complementing the rich broth beneath. For dipping noodles, the Atsugiri Aburi Toroniku Tsukemen pairs hefty, chewy noodles with a concentrated dipping soup blending tonkotsu pork bone and dried bonito.
The shop's other culinary pillar is its premium rare chashu series, featuring shoulder loin from Kyoto-bred Kyo no Miyako Mochi Pork, vacuum-cooked gently at low temperatures to retain its moisture. In the Rare Chashu-men W, diners get both the tender rare pork and the signature thick-cut seared toroniku in one bowl, offering a direct contrast in cooking style and texture. While the standard broth combines pork bone, chicken paitan, and seafood accents, it can also be swapped for the regular pork bone and chicken broth upon request.
Rice dishes such as the soft-boiled egg and toroniku rice bowl or classic fried rice make satisfying accompaniments to the soup. The side selection extends beyond standard gyoza to green-onion-laden spicy miso dumplings and limited-quantity rare chashu nigiri, accommodating varied appetites.
Set in a quiet residential corner of Omiyacho in Fushimi Ward, the restaurant offers counter and table seating across lunch and dinner services. Operating on a walk-in basis with cash-only payment, it suits an impromptu midday meal or a bowl after work.
